COURSE SYLLABUS (32 HOURS)
• Introduction to shell and tube heat exchanger including TEMA types and their application
• Review of major requirements of API 660 and TEMA standards for the design of shell and tube heat exchangers
• Bolted Flange design based on ASME SEC VIII DIV 1(Appendix 2) and ASME PCC-1 (Appendix O)
• Review of criteria for shell and tube heat exchangers according to Part UHX of ASME Section VIII
• Comprehensive introduction to ASPEN EDR software, mechanical design of shell and tube exchanger module
• Perform a mechanical design of fixed tube sheet heat exchangers
• Perform a mechanical design of floating tube sheet exchanger
